DESIGN CRITERIAS OF GOLF COURSE

  • The Project includes the definition of the 18-hole golf course, with a length of 6.393 m, from the white tee markers, par 72, a putting green, an approach green and a long driving range, with a length of 308 meters.
  • United States Golf Association Rules (USGA Green Section).
  • The creation of an outstanding golf course with its own personality.
  • To adapt the route to the topography, in order to diminish the environmental impact on earth-moving works and maximize the views inside the route and from the Club House. Conserving the most of the trees and shrubs before the construction and transplanted areas and maintaining this unique landscape is the aim of the project.
  • Accessibility to all types of players given the nature of the facility. Location of the putting green, the driving range, the tees of holes 1 and 10 and the Greens of holes 9 and 18 close to the Club House as much as allowed by the existing topography, so that a global view can be seen from there, having unique views from the Club House of the course and surrounding panorama, making it easier for the players to circulate and access the golf course.
  • Tees close to the greens of the holes immediately before so as to avoid. Carth paths in all the unnecessary journeys.
  • To completely avoid the design of holes that forces the player to use “blind” strokes.
  • The use of broad, numerous tee platforms with two aims in mind:
  • To make it easier to keep them in good condition (greater wear and tear on 3 par tees)
  • To enable adapting the degree of difficulty of the links to all kinds of players.
  • The base of tees elevated on platforms, particularly on three pars, so as to provide visual command of the hole to be played, and also to help defining the player’s strategy in best conditions.
  • Protection and delimitation of the holes through the topography, morphology of the tree stands, hazards and bunkers and also the the selection of certain penalty points, in order to increase the difficulty and diversity of the game.
  • Design of the fairways complying, as a general critera, with a broadening of the ball drop areas of exit drives and a narrowing, combined with other difficulties and obstacles such as trees, bunkers, etc., in the drop areas of poorly executed strokes or strokes played in a risky manner.
  • The limits of the fairways are defined by hummocks, tree stands or clumps of bushes, obstacles, such as bunkers, lakes, etc.
  • Great care in the processing and design of the green areas since that is where the final strokes are played, creating the maximum of alternatives and variety for strokes, making risky strokes difficult and penalizing those that are poorly executed.

The club house will be around 3,174 square metres in size with all facilities. Located on top of a hill, you can enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the golf course, the mountains National Park and the Aegean coastline.
